WHAT IS
Solventless Extraction?

There are many forms of extraction commonly used in the cannabis and hemp industry. Most utilize chemicals in liquid or gas form to strip or dissolve the trichomes off the plants flower and create an oil commonly known as crude. The crude oil is then further refined in a distillation process to remove a majority of the extraction solvent.

Extraction using solvent-based technology has been an industry standard for many years, how ever it does not come without its faults. Equipment used for solvent-based extraction and recovery often uses volatile gases or liquids such as butane, ethanol that require pressure vessels along with explosion prof enclosures or rooms & can be heavily regulated in most states.

Alternative Process

An alternative to solvent-based extraction is a process known as Solventless or solvent free extraction, this process has been used for decades and often referred to as “bubble hash” or “ice water hash” During the solventless extraction process dry or wet bio mass is placed into vessels of cold water and agitated to mechanically remove the plants trichomes to be later filtered and collected in a solid form known to most as hash. Solventless extraction is the purest & cleanest form of extraction, since no harsh chemicals or pressure is used this greatly reduces the possibility of bio mass contamination into final concentrates.

Solventless extraction offers more types of final products versus solvent based extraction as trichomes collected in the solventless process are granular dry trichomes vs a crude oil. The collected hash can be air dried or freeze dried to remove any water from the extraction process leaving a stable and pure concentrate that can be easily stored for long periods, further simple post processing using heat and pressure can transform this dry material into oils, waxes, vapes and much more.
